summer break practice

It may not officially be summertime, but it sure feels like it!  We dusted off the box of water toys and enjoyed an afternoon in the sunshine.

Whew! It's been very, very hot. Perfect for splashing in a cold pool!

Evyn invited a friend over for a "pool party."
Andrew particularly liked the slip & slide.

We've had a string of very hot, humid days that kept us indoors most afternoons. We did brave the weather a few times to splash in the kids' pool, run through a sprinkler, and build some sandcastles.

Sunday - the last say of summer vacation, we spent the day playing outside, going for a bike ride, and getting a treat from the ice cream truck.

We may not have a beach or fresh-caught shrimp....
....but we do have fresh farm produce and an inflatable pool!



We walked to the farm on a recent afternoon for corn, cantaloupe,
and tomatoes, then cooled off with a swim.
