blizzard!

OK, technically it wasn't a blizzard, but we did get lots of snow (2 feet) followed by high winds that created drifts nearly 5 ft. tall around our property. My pictures just don't do it justice... the ridges of snow formed by the high winds were really beautiful.

Some of you have been asking whether I've managed to catch Andrew's nostril fascination on camera yet. You can stop asking... I have!

It's morphed into a whole new thing, though. What started as him "finding" his nostrils, turned into a bit of confusion on the definition of the word "nose."
See, if you ask him where his nose is, he immediately goes for the nostril.
And if you say the word "no," he often confuses it with "nose" and... well, goes for the nostril.

On a similar but less yucky note... he loves eyes and eyelashes. He'll point to your eyes and say the word "eye." But if you ask him where Andrew's eyes are..... he points to his ears.
I can't figure that one out. I've given up trying.... he's just our lovable, funny little goofball.

Aunt Chris' birthday

On February 6th Scott's family made their way through the (2 ft.) snow to our house to celebrate Chris's birthday.

Happy birthday, Aunt Chris! Hope it was a great one!

'cause baby i'm a star!

Andrew was THRILLED to watch himself (aka Baby - as he calls his reflection) in home movies on our computer. He climbed right up on top of the desk (there was no stopping him, trust me!) to touch Baby.

climb every mountain....

...that seems to be Andrew's motto. He loves to be UP!

We have stools in the bathrooms, play room, Evyn's room, and kitchen. Andrew will push them around the room to where he needs them to be, then climb up to get all sorts of things he knows he shouldn't have. He keeps us busy!

Some random photos from the last two weeks

Bathtime! Andrew loves the tub.

He also loves his sister (the feeling is mutual!) Here they are dancing together:

Evyn loves the snow. Winter has always been her favorite season. Here she is sledding on the saucer the kids got for Christmas, after the first of three snowstorms this month:

Andrew also loves the baby in the mirror. Anytime we walk past a mirror, he waves at that baby. He also likes to give the baby kisses:

As for me, I love my beautiful kids. Even the messy, drooly, silly, playful, happy little dirt magnet:

a year ago... can you believe it?

Seems impossible to me. A year ago we were still under construction.... still waiting for a little baby him or her... celebrating with a surprise party...... hard to believe that Andrew has been with us for less than a year.... amazing!
