The smilebooth at the reception was a big hit - lots of fun, even if we were looking a bit worse for the wear after 7 hours.

After the wedding Evyn spent another half hour or so doing more photos before being introduced at the reception dinner. We caught up with her a few times, still in strike-a-pose mode:

Congratulations, Chad & Trisha!

Evyn got to serve as flower girl in Scott's cousin's wedding on Saturday.

It was a very long day but Evyn did great and had a blast. The afternoon started at 2pm with primping, followed by posing for lots of pictures around and about Lime Spring Farm.

Andrew thought the ceremony was quite interesting. OK, actually he was just interested in finding all the bribes I had tucked in my bag.




Evyn was pretty nervous, especially because she had to walk with a boy.
But she loves being "on stage!"

We've been wanting to stop at the park/playground at Greenfield for, well, forever. We finally did, dodging masses of goose droppings along our way (ha!).

Andrew SO wanted to go chase the geese!
I have no idea what he would have done had he caught one... oh my....

Third day of school

What's so special about the third day of school? Nothing, really, except it was the first time I had a chance to take the obligatory "back to school" pictures of Evyn. (Bad Mommy!)




Each morning Andrew and I walk her over to the bus stop at 8:10, then back to our yard to wave at the bus as it goes by. Evyn LOVES riding the bus to school. She was not particularly excited about going back to school (starting first grade - all day, being with a new class of children, and the end of long lazy summer days), but riding the bus cheered her up a bit.



Andrew had a tough time adjusting to his sister not being here all day. The first week he ran around the house calling for her, looking in every room in hopes of finding her. Even now, with two weeks under our belt, he whines and sometimes cries when she gets on the bus and heads off. To say he misses her would be quite an understatement. He goes a bit wild when she comes home each afternoon!

Evyn has been doing well so far, although her writing skills have really regressed over the summer. (She's still doing well for her age/grade, but not nearly as well as she was three months ago). My plan for writing and sending lots of letters over the summer - part fun, part practice- wasn't met with much enthusiasm. Hopefully she'll get caught back up in the next few weeks.

Andrew is an eating MACHINE. Every hour or so he toddles into the kitchen, pushes Evyn's stool up to the counter, pops his little head over the top and DEMANDS to be fed. And with this boy, food = love, so some of the sweetest, loving moments are when he has food in his chubby little hands.
