Monday marked our 37th week of pregnancy - baby is now officially considered full-term! It still amazes me, every day, that we are here.
Thursday afternoon I had my latest prenatal checkup. I am up +17 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight. My blood pressure was 100/68, fundal height measurement showed that baby was spot-on for size at 37 weeks, and his/her heartrate was 136 bpm. I asked the midwife to check baby's position, as I could tell s/he had shifted yet again in the last two days. S/he is still head down and low (good) but the little bugger is now in left posterior position, which means his/her spine is toward my spine, his/her belly facing out to my belly. This is NOT where we want baby to be when I go into labor! Chances are good that the baby will turn again - but if s/he stays like this, I'll have to spend most of my labor on my hands & knees, to try to convince him/her to turn & avoid what they call "back labor."
One good thing about the shift in positions as of late, the pressure in my pelvis has decreased slightly, and I am much more comfortable than I was a week or so ago. Hurray!

I don't want to sound weird, but you can actually go ahead and start doing some positions to encourage the baby to flip around. You should read up on it! <3
i'm HOME!!! and i have such a sleepy baby that i am actually catching up on blogs! :) but, wanted to let you know that mallory was posterior as well and based on her positioning, my mw had me doing lunges on the right leg (b/c of the angle she was in) to get her to turn. i had MUCH back labor and pressure pain from the back of her head through much of my labor....and could not sit at all this time. spent almost all time standing or kneeling over back of bed or in shower. BUT - she eventually somehow turned (even though i still endured the back pain!) and she came out face down! :) AMAZING AND WONDERFUL experience....good luck to you!
