visiting the fairies
Last week I took the kids to Mount Gretna to visit the fairy garden and grab some ice cream at the Jigger Shop.

Andrew really enjoyed his ice cream - as well as Evyn's; he was too little to have any last summer when we visited!

thirty pounds
We picked 30 pounds of peaches at Cherry Hill Orchards.

We gave away dozens, made a peach cobbler, snacked on fresh peaches, and still have a few dozen left.
After all the peach-picking fun Evyn and Scott went for an after-dark swim at the New Holland pool, which was open until 10pm. No pictures - Andrew and I stayed home.

You picked a fine time to leave me...

The M4 had a great hike yesterday at Theodore Parker Natural Area, only to discover that the G7 had burned through the backup battery. Which means, no pictures! Such a shame, because we had a blast.
The first third of the hike was relatively flat and easy, meandering around Stewart Run.
The second third was moderately challenging - uphill, but well-worn and manageable.
The final third proved to be a challenge... uphill, winding, rocky, narrow, with shifting footing. Not such a big deal for adults, even Evyn made it up with minimal help. However, toting Andrew along made it much more interesting! I "wore" him in the sling as much as possible, but he wanted "down, down!" He hiked A LOT. Much of it without assistance, as he screeched any time we attempted to take his hand (firecracker!).
The kids LOVED splashing in the stream, and we all headed home tired and soaked and happy. Picture that :)
