1 month checkup

Andrew went to see the pediatrician on his 5 week birthday. According to the ped, he's in the 90th percentile for weight at his age. 80% for length, and 50% for head circumference.
Evyn's measurements were very similar at this age - except that her head circumference was always over 90th percentile :)

time flies

Andrew is a month old. How did that happen?!
Next doctor appointment scheduled for Thursday 4/16.
Can't wait to see his measurements. We weighed him here at home and - are you ready for this? - he's up to 11.5 pounds! He's gotten much longer, too - he is too big for some of his 0/3 month sleepers.




He still LOVES his slings. Yes, I am still in PJ's at 11am. Be kind, us old folk look a little rough without our hair and makeup done.

Later in the afternoon we went to Randy & Rosalie's house for the Martin family Easter gathering.


They had the annual Easter egg hunt for Evyn & Scott's cousin Lizzie. Evyn was less than enthused to go outside - she had already been knocked down by one of the overly-friendly dogs. I sent Scott out with her to make her feel better. Still, the dog got her again! The whole way home in the car, Evyn talked about "Bad Cooper." We promised next year, if Cooper is there, we'll get someone to put him on the leash. She did have a great time hunting eggs, though, and has been playing Egg Hunt around our house ever since.







The two Japanese exchange students seemed to be very interested in the whole egg hunt activity!

kindergarten physical

On Wednesday, Scott's Mom came to watch Andrew while I took Evyn to the doctor for her 5 year well visit & kindergarten physical. Can you believe we have a school-aged child?!

Evyn was very nervous about the immunizations she needed for school. She didn't remember her last shots, which were at her 3-year well visit. She told me she wasn't feeling brave.

She did enjoy most of the appointment - the vision test, reflex check, and the play area in the waiting room. The office is in the midst of upgrading to an all-electronic filing system, which meant we had a 45 minute wait between the physical and the shots, while the staff figured out how to enter in our data. We killed the time with lots of silliness.... thank goodness I had my camera with me, to get Evyn's mind off the wait!










She did great for the first shot, but the next three -yes, 4 sticks! brutal- didn't go so well for her, and she told me on the way home (to a very hungry baby) that she's "never, ever going back there and doing that again!" We did stop at Rita's on the way home for a Cotton Candy Gelati, which soothed her spirit a bit.

5th (!) birthday party

My 4 year old (I had to say/write that one last time!) had her 5th birthday party on Saturday. Her actual birthday is Monday - 4:18 am.

5 years old, wow, unbelievable.
