Christmas, & a snow delay

Sunday afternoon the extended Martin family got together at Scott's parents house for a belated Christmas dinner. It had been postponed due to the loss of Scott's Grandfather in November. It was the first we'd all been together since his funeral. Evyn was particularly excited to see Lizzie (her "favorite friend") again.

Monday Evyn & I ran some errands and stopped for lunch at Bob Evans.

Day 7 of the construction project: the crew raced against the coming snow to get holes cut in the roof that would allow them to pass large pieces of lumber through to continue building the subfloor. The electrician was back and reconnected a few of the outlets and lights in the living room that he had to rewire, so we once again have power in the living room - but the adjoining powder room is still in the dark. Now we're waiting for the snow/ice to pass before they can open up the roof again and get back to work.

Turkey Day practice run

I had to post these for Grams & Pops (Scott's parents). Sunday they hosted an early 'Thanksgiving' meal for us, Scott's sister & Rick, and Scott's grandparents.
While we were there I noticed a huge stack of papers - copies of our blog that "Pops" prints to take home, since they don't have internet access at their house.
I figured if they are going through that much trouble to keep up with our page, I should take a few new photos to post just for them!

After dinner, playing a hanging monkey game - the adults got a little carried away with strategising over a kids game!

And for my friend Diana, one of the rare recent photos of ME (Julie), taken by Evyn as I was posting last night's post-dinner blog entry:
