Playdate with a classmate- the girls made sandwiches out of peanut butter, crackers, butter, and cheese. They insist it was "delicious."

two weeks, condensed

Hurray! I found another usb cord and can once again download pictures to our computer, and share them with you. Although, I haven't been snapping many lately.

A few updates, in no particular order:

Evyn and I "camped out." In other words, had a girls-only slumber party in the living room, with a crackling fire in the fireplace. Evyn slept in her fort (looking worse for the wear, above).


Andrew is standing! I have no pictures as proof, but he's been standing for a couple weeks now. He tries to walk, but hasn't succeeded in taking solo steps yet.




New words: hi, yes, up, and yum yum (not to be confused with the singular "yum"), which sounds like a constant stream of "um-um-um!"

New trick: crawling up the stairs (repeatedly), crawling up anything- his sister's shoulders, a pile of pillows, anything crawl-able is sure to be an Andrew magnet

New foods: homemade vegetable stew, chocolate (stolen from his sister), Fruity Pebbles (stolen from his sister), toilet paper (a favorite), bread, rice, mashed potatoes.

New habit: putting his fingers up his nose. It must be a cozy spot for his little fingers, because he does it often (sigh) and will sit for several minutes like that.

New Year, and kids photography

On New Year's day we went to the C's for our pork & sauerkraut fix. The kids had a great time playing Twister and generally wrecking Aunt Lori & Uncle Larry's house.

We had planned to hit Grandma & Grandpa B's annual Fertility Pork Roast too, but Andrew wouldn't nap on-the-go so we never made it there.

Christmas Village

On Wednesday December 30th we made our second annual trek to Koziar's Christmas Village. If you're in Pennsylvania and haven't been there, mark it on your calendar for next year!



As we posted last year, we had planned on going on a warmer night this time around. Unfortunately the night we picked a couple weeks ago didn't pan out (Evyn had a belly ache), so we ended up - again- going on a very, very cold night! And, unlike when we visited last year, there was a HUGE crowd. But we were bundled up and ready to have a great time.





Andrew fell asleep before we got in the front gate, and slept until we returned to our car more than an hour later. I'd put a portable heat pack behind his back, which kept him toasty warm.


Evyn, true to form, remembered every last little detail of our trip last year, and insisted she stop by the gift shop to get a Christmas bear for Andrew like she got the year before. They were out of the Christmas bears, so she picked a plush elephant instead.
